How do we talk with learners about difficult topics? This year we’ve faced many natural traumas (floods, hurricanes, fires), witnessed the divisiveness of politics, and experienced the rise of anti-Semitism. Based on her longitudinal studies of how children in Los Angeles engage with Israel, Dr. Zakai will help us create guidelines for engaging in challenging discussions and lead us in creating Jewish values-based educational environments where our learners can explore difficult topics.
