This exhibition features ten works by some of the best-known and most influential artists living and working in Israel throughout the twentieth century. Recently gifted to the Skirball Museum by Nancy Berman and Alan Bloch, many of the works were purchased directly from the artists or from distinguished early Israeli galleries by Nancy Berman’s parents, Philip and Muriel Berman.

TAKE TEN! A CLOSE LOOK AT MODERN ISRAELI ART
Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 7 pm in Mayerson Hall
Join Skirball Museum director Abby Schwartz for an informative slide presentation. Learn about the artists represented in the exhibition and their important contributions to the development of modern art in Israel. Collector Nancy Berman will join us via SKYPE to talk about the formation of her personal collection of Israeli art and to answer questions from the audience. Berman was the curator of the HUC Skirball Museum in Los Angeles from 1972 to 1995 and served as director of the Museum of the Skirball Cultural Center from 1996 to 2002. An exhibition walk and talk is included. Reservations recommended.
