Dear members of the HUC-JIR Community,

As you are likely aware, Morgan Lewis was retained by the HUC-JIR Board of Governors to investigate allegations of inequitable or inappropriate treatment by past or current members of the HUC-JIR community. In particular, we have been asked to: (i) investigate allegations of sexual misconduct, harassment, or discrimination based on sex (including gender, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation) or any other accounts of harassment or discrimination by any member of the HUC-JIR faculty or staff; (ii) determine whether any past or current HUC-JIR faculty or staff member in a supervisory or leadership position engaged in or was aware of such behavior occurring at any location on any campus or at any off-site assignments or events related to HUC-JIR coursework; and, if so, (iii) determine whether the responses to such complaints, if any, were appropriate.

Thank you to the many individuals who already have reached out to us. As we near the end of our investigation, we would like to extend a final invitation to anyone who believes they may have relevant information to speak with us. If you are unsure whether you have relevant information, we encourage you to reach out to us nonetheless, as any information you have may be helpful. Please contact us no later than August 1st so that your voice can be heard.

To contact Morgan Lewis to schedule an interview, ask any questions, or simply have a conversation, please email:
HUC-JIRInvestigation@morganlewis.com. You may also reach out by telephone at (202) 739-4878 and someone on the investigation team will return your communication as quickly as possible. This email address and telephone number are accessible only by the Morgan Lewis investigation team. No one at HUC-JIR will have access to your communications with Morgan Lewis.

Of course, anyone who has concerns about events that transpired at HUC-JIR can always bring them to the attention of Rabbi Andrew Goodman, Director of Student Support, at agoodman@huc.edu, or Nicole Jones, Title IX Coordinator and Director of Human Resources, at njones@huc.edu. Concerns about rabbis may also be brought to the attention of the CCAR by emailing Ethics@ccarnet.org. For purposes of the Morgan Lewis investigation, though, we kindly ask you to reach out to us no later than August 1st if you believe you have information that might be helpful to the investigation team.

Thank you,
