Ivrit B’yachad:
HUC-JIR Jerusalem Ulpan for Alumni
July 1-5, 2019
HUC-JIR’s Taube Family Campus in Jerusalem
Join us for a five-day immersive Hebrew language experience focused on conversational Hebrew for Reform religious leaders.
Study Hebrew in and out of the classroom with beloved HUC-JIR teachers, Dr. Yossi Leshem and Rivki Rosner. Learn with outstanding Taube Family Campus faculty, including Rabbi Michael Marmur, Ph.D.; Rabbi Dalia Marx, Ph.D.; Dr. Ruhama Weiss; Jeremy Leigh; and others. Pray each morning with Israeli colleagues using the new Israeli Reform siddur. Explore Jerusalem neighborhoods and contemporary Israeli culture with old and new friends.
This program will enable alumni with varying degrees of Hebrew competency and comfort to advance their Hebrew skills in a supportive, fun, engaging, and empowering environment. Read more about the program here.
Register by June 1, 2019.
Tuition is $954 per participant (includes classroom instruction and outside activities). Participants are responsible for travel costs and accommodations.
To run this exciting pilot program, we need a minimum of 15 participants. Since language acquisition requires sustained study, we are exploring ways to offer continued Hebrew speaking opportunities as a follow up to the ulpan, through AlumniLearn and programming in partnership with the CCAR.
